Liam Chan joined LOpSoc as ''Assistant Musical Director'' half way through the rehearsal process for [[Mikado 2017]], then rose to the grand title of ''Musical Director'' for [[Mikado 2017 (Harrogate)]]. He fast became beloved (and consequently absorbed) by the society. It was soon vowed that he should never be allowed to return to his previous life, and was dragged kicking and screaming into the position of ''Musical Director'' for [[Ruddygore 2018]]. Now, trapped in the endless cycle that is LOpSoc membership, Liam embarks on note-bashing his way through yet another show as ''Assistant Musical Director'' of the upcoming Summer show, ''Patience''.

Liam's musical directing style typically involves abandoning any actual musical direction and instead enthusiastically filling the shoes of absent principals, regardless of vocal part or gender. He also occasionally sasses the chorus, but only when he feels like it.

Liam is also the recipient of the 2018 Professor Lilley Award for going above and beyond for the society.
